HOW DIFFICULT IS RINJANI SUMMIT?

Climbing or trekking to the top of Rinjani is difficult, very difficult. The Rinjani trek starts in Sembalun with an elevation gain of 2500m over 12km. Most of the 1100m elevation change occurs on the 3km summit day, which takes about 3 hours.

WHAT IS THE BEST TIME OF YEAR TO CLIMB MOUNT RINJANI?

The best season for climbing is from April to December. Mount Rinjani National Park is closed from January to March due to heavy rain. In fact, Lombok’s climate allows for trekking almost all year round, unless volcanic activity increases. National park authorities will send you notifications about current volcanic activity.

DO THE PORTERS CARRY OUR LUGGAGE/BACKPACK?

No, they do not. The porters we provide are in charge of carrying all the logistics for the trekking program only. If you wish, you can pay extra for an additional porter to carry your extra baggage at USD 20 per porter per day.

WHERE CAN I LEAVE MY EXTRA LUGGAGE DURING THE TREK PROGRAMME?

You can leave them in our office in Senaru. You can retrieve all your luggage at the end of the trip. The car that picks you up will come with all your stuff.

ARE WE TRAVELING IN A BIG GROUP SHARING OR PRIVATE GROUP?

On request we have two options of shared or private tour, for the shared tour you will join our groups departing on the same date with a maximum of 6 climbers in a group or you will select a private tour that does not join other people.
